Coke oven batteries in Zdzieszowice

In the years 2000 - 2004 PRIDB PIECEXPORT S.A. was the general contractor of general overhaul of the coke oven batteries nos. 7 & 8 in the ZAKŁADY KOKSOWNICZE Coke Plant in Zdzieszowice. The works comprised placing of approx. 40.000 mt of refractory material within a period of 6 months. Moreover, the reinforcing and ferro-concrete laying works on construction of coke wharf and service platforms were completed.
The ceramic brickwork-general description:
The coke oven battery in the Z.K. Zdzieszowice Coke Plant is composed of two blocks of 38 coking chambers each separated by center head bridge. Coking chambers with tapered walls (50 mm) are connected with one collecting main and suitable for top charging system. The useful length of a coking chamber is of 15,040 mm. Fuel: coke oven gas supplied from the bottom through nozzle plate.
Description of the most important works in the scope of repair of the battery no 7 and 8 in the Coking Plant "Zdzieszowice" Sp. z o.o., incl.
- Overhaul of reinforced concrete structure of the battery including the repair of a nozzle plate, battery heads and coke discharger track.
- Demolition of the stack lining and building the reinforced concrete structures.
- Building the ceramic masonry envelope of the battery together with the battery roof development and smoke channels lining.
- Building the battery platforms and execution and assembly of the bottom equipment of the battery.
- Building the "coke wharf" together with supply and installation of C&M equipment.
- Building the foundation of the suction collector and dust removal system.
- Execution, supply and assembly of the steel structure.
- Execution of the subgrade and rail-track for the quenching truck as well as access roads and squares.
From May 2005 PIECEXPORT has started implementation of the new investment e.g. building the coke oven battery no 11 (incorporation of ca. 20000 tons ceramics materials).
Planned completion and start up IV quarter of 2006.
